This week's show uses Nordic music to help tell some of the story of the Northfield Bank Raid of 1876 by the notorious James-Younger Gang — and includes some tunes written by Nordic musicians specifically about Northfield.

If you're new to listening to audio online or downloading the shows, here's how to get started.

I have had difficulties listening to Multe Music until now. Once the podcast was available on iTunes things were simplified for me and I have been thoroughly enjoying your shows. I started with Røvene, and my favorites from this show were the pieces by Filarfolket and Phønix.

You wondered aloud where Twärdrag might have learned “The Ballad of Jesse James.” You also mentioned that they do both Swedish and Irish music. I’ll wonder if they learned this tune the same way I did – from the Irish folk-rock band The Pogues off their “Rum” album.

I love your show. Thanks for doing whatever it was you had to do to get this to iTunes.

Thanks for the lead on The Pogues’ recording! And happy that iTunes is making it easier for you to hear the show. Thanks for listening!
