I recently came across excellent videos with Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus made just prior to the opening of the Swedish production of Mamma Mia! at Cirkus in Stockholm.
The interviews are done in Swedish with English language subtitles. The interview with Andersson and Ulvaeaus is interspersed with interviews of others involved in the Swedish production and clips from rehearsals.
Among the interesting facts about the show is that ABBA's songs were specially translated into Swedish for this production. The songs had never been translated into Swedish before. It also turns out that the lead female character in the Swedish production is called "Anna", not "Donna" and that the names and histories of her paramours is different than other productions and the movies. One of them is a "traveler", which is the Swedish word for Romani.
These are really "must see" clips for anyone who likes ABBA and the work of Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus as songwriters.
