If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck…

Here's a wonderful new schottis from the Original Swedish Arvika Blues Breakers in Värmland, Sweden.

I can appreciate a band that has instruments such as a washboard, kazoo and a "screamer".

Here they are doing a new schottis written by Tuta that they call the Blues-schottis, but that I think should be called something more fowl-oriented (for obvious reasons when you view the video). The Duck-schottis, perhaps? A Quack-lender? You decide.

UPDATE: The band read this post and decided to call the tune, Quacklender. How cool is that?!

Apparently they all have nicknames as their web site identifies them thusly:

  • Tuta ————>harmonica, screaming
  • Tussilago ——->vocals, washboard, fiddle
  • Kudden ———>vocals, clarinet, washboard, kazoo, guitar, balafon
  • Polka ———–>fiddle
  • Rycket ———>big fiddle, mandolin
  • Bälgen ———>accordion
  • Nypan ———->vocals, bass
  • Snippen ——–>vocals, guitar, mandolin

A neat tune from an interesting band!
