The Swedish Chef goes folk metal

For the traditional bit of Friday foolishness, I offer a short YouTube video of the Muppet's Swedish Chef going folk metal.

The video is set to the music of the Swedish group, Vintersorg (Winter Sorrow), from Skellefteå, Sweden.

Originally called Vargatron (Wolf Throne), Vintersorg started out doing folk metal exploring themes of fantasy, mythology, nature. Later, with some inspiration from Carl Sagan, they turned to themes of scientific ideas and philosophies such as metaphysics, astronomy, and astrology.

The song is Till Fjälls (To The Mountains) from their 1998 album of the same name. And here a creative fan has remixed their music with, of all things, the Swedish Chef.

Till Fjälls

Trådgränsens lövsal I brandgul skiftning flammar

I like the way the video maker took the care to coordinate the Swedish Chef's movements to the music — especially playing with the chicken's wattles. Gotta love it!

Being of Scandinavean, Swedish, origin- I had to watch this. The vocalist has a wonderful voice. A little “heavier” metal than I like but the cake dancing, etc. was interesting…
