However, a cursory look at the chart seems to indicate that the chart does not include or reflect the names of many Nordic metal bands. Wikipedia lists some of the names of Viking metal bands and folk metal bands.
I've recently been listening to some Nordic heavy metal — or, more precisely, to Nordic viking metal and folk metal bands — in the hopes of understanding more about the genres and relating the music to the cultural and folk music traditions of the Nordic countries. I plan to blog more on what I'm learning.
